1. Definitions

"Mediatopia", "we", "us", and "our" refers to Mediatopia, trading from 12 Whiteladies Road, Bristol BS8 1PD. "Client", "you", and "your" refers to the person or business engaging our services. "Services" refers to web design, development, hosting, and related digital services.

2. Quotes & Pricing

All quotes are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated. Prices are fixed once a quote is accepted — we do not charge hourly rates or add hidden fees. All prices are quoted in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. A 30% deposit is required before work begins, with the balance due on completion.

3. Project Timeline

We provide estimated timelines at the start of each project. Timelines may be affected by delays in receiving content, feedback, or approvals from the client. We will communicate any changes to the timeline promptly.

4. Intellectual Property

Upon full payment, copyright of the final website design and custom code transfers to the client. We retain the right to use the work in our portfolio unless agreed otherwise. Third-party components (fonts, stock images, open-source libraries) remain subject to their respective licences.

5. Hosting & Support

Hosting services are provided on a monthly rolling basis. We guarantee 99.9% uptime on our managed hosting plans. Support is available during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9am–5:30pm) via phone and email. Emergency support for critical issues is available outside these hours for managed hosting clients.

6. Payment Terms

Invoices are due within 14 days of issue. Late payments may incur interest at 8% above the Bank of England base rate in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act. We reserve the right to suspend services if invoices remain unpaid beyond 30 days.

7. Revisions & Changes

Our standard projects include 2 rounds of revisions. Additional revisions beyond this scope will be quoted separately. Significant changes to the project brief after work has begun may require a revised quote.

8. Cancellation

If you cancel a project after work has begun, payment is due for all work completed to date. The 30% deposit is non-refundable. Hosting and ongoing services can be cancelled with 30 days written notice.

9. Liability

Our total liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the fees paid for the specific service in question. We are not liable for loss of profit, data, or business arising from use of our services. We maintain professional indemnity insurance.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
