What is a website maintenance package?
A website is not finished the day it goes live. Every website needs somewhere to live, a security certificate that keeps renewing, updates that keep it working, backups in case something goes wrong, and somebody who notices when it stops working. A website maintenance package is all of that, done for you every month for one fixed price.
Most small business websites get none of it. They are built, handed over and left. Then one morning a customer rings to say the website is down, or the browser shows a warning that it is not secure, or a form has been quietly failing for weeks and nobody knew. By then it has already cost you enquiries.
With website maintenance from us, your website sits on our UK servers, is backed up every day and protected against attacks, and your domain and business email are looked after too. How much does website maintenance cost?
Two website maintenance packages, each one fixed price a month. Both include hosting, daily backups, security, your domain, your business email, a person to ring, and moving your website to us. The minimum contract is 12 months, then it carries on month to month and you can cancel with 30 days' notice. Prices are plus VAT.

When will you hear back?
Pick the day and time you get in touch, and see when you get an answer. An answer means a reply telling you what will happen and when. Changes are then scheduled, and anything chargeable is quoted first.
Support is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, by phone, email and support ticket.
A message on a working day before 3pm is answered the same working day.

Website maintenance packages: your questions answered
How much do website maintenance packages cost?
Ours are £45 a month for Care and £125 a month for Care Plus, plus VAT. Both include hosting, backups, security, your domain and email, and moving your website to us. There is no set-up fee.
Do you look after websites you did not build?
Yes. We look after any website, whatever it is built on, and moving it across to us is included in the price.
What is included in website maintenance?
Hosting on UK servers, a security certificate, daily backups, protection against attacks, your domain renewed and managed, business email on your own web address, and a person to ring who answers the same working day.
Do you maintain WordPress websites?
Yes. WordPress itself, its plugins and its theme are kept up to date and checked after each update, with a daily backup behind them. There is more on our WordPress page.
Do you look after online shops?
Yes. A shop gets the same backups, updates, security and support as any other website. If you would like a new shop built and run for you as well, see our pay monthly ecommerce website.
Can I pay for a one-off fix instead of a website maintenance package?
Yes. If your website is broken, hacked or slow, we look at it and agree a price for the fix before we start. A website maintenance package is for keeping it working every month after that.
Are changes to my website included?
On Care Plus, two hours of changes a month are included and made for you. On Care, changes are £75 an hour, always quoted first, so you know the price before anything is done.
What is not included in website maintenance?
On Care, changes to your website are not included: they are £75 an hour, always quoted first. Neither package includes posting on your social media or rewriting your website, which are extras you can add to any monthly plan: automatic social media posting from £50 a month, and a content overhaul for a one-off £750.
How quickly will you answer?
The same working day. Support is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm. Anything that reaches us after 3pm is answered by 12 noon the next working day.
What if my website goes down?
Anything stopping your website working is dealt with straight away, on either package, at no extra cost.
Can you fix a broken or hacked website?
Yes, whatever it is built on. We look at it first and agree a price with you before we start.
How long is the contract?
12 months from your first payment. After that it carries on month to month, and you can cancel with 30 days' written notice.
Do I keep my email and my web address?
Yes. Your business email and your domain move across with your website and stay yours. If you ever leave, your web address is transferred to you free of charge.
What is the difference between web hosting and website maintenance?
Hosting is the server your website lives on. Website maintenance is everything done to keep it working on that server: the backups, the updates, the security certificate, the protection against attacks, your domain and email, and a person to ring. Both of our website maintenance packages include the hosting.
Does a small website need website maintenance?
Yes. A five-page website needs the same backups, updates and security certificate as a large one, and a small business usually has nobody else watching it. Care at £45 a month is made for exactly that.
Do the prices include VAT?
No. The prices are shown without VAT, and VAT is added when you pay.
